    88To achieve this we hope to create a library to extend the functionality of Mathworks's [http://www.mathworks.com/products/simulink/ Simulink], a well known software for modeling systems. This library would allow the study of a smart grid under non-ideal conditions through the safety of a simulation. The distribution of the elements would allow us to study the communication between these simulated elements - one of the most important features of the smart grid - using a resource like [http://www.winlab.rutgers.edu/docs/focus/ORBIT.html ORBIT].
