     371Why do I see unknown SSIDs on the sandbox(es)?

     373Although the radios on the sandboxes are connected by wires some
     374leakage still exists. The proximity of the sandboxes (for instance sb1
     375and sb2 are next to each other) causes CSMA to kick in. Some
     376experimenters even reported observing traffic from the sandboxes on
     377the main grid. Interference from
     378the main grid on the sandboxes is also possible.

     380Since we share the building there is also interference in 2.4-2.5GHz
     381spectrum from the access points that do not belong to ORBIT. For
     382that reason we did not bother to turn off Winlab access point WINMAIN,
     383which is on channel 6. We encourage users to utilize 5GHz band for
     384grid experiments.
