I would like to announce that after much deliberation, research and
argument we are migrating our baseline images from Debian GNU/Linux to
FreeBSD 7.0. This decision does not come lightly to Orbit, and we
would like to point out several key things that helped us form our
decision:

FreeBSD 7.0 Bests Linux in SMP Performance:

FreeBSD vs. Linux vs. Windows 2000

We feel that we can better serve our experimenters and users by making
the switch, and we hope to have the replacement images available by
April 2nd, 2008.

Regards,

  Luis
