Hello,

I needed some help and clarification. Would be glad if someone could
reply please.

1) Initially i wish to acquire a few traces of the traffic in the ORBIT
lab.
How do i go about this? Do i have to write any Ruby scripts for this?
(AFAIK i think i will need to write 2 scripts right. One that will make
the one node send msgs and the second one that will put the card in
monitor mode on another node to sniff packets. Please correct me here if
i am wrong)

You dont need two ruby scripts, just one.. look at
http://www.orbit-lab.org/wiki/Tutorial/HelloWorld and change the mode
from master-> ad-hoc and managed->monitor

2) Id like to use tethereal on the sandbox. But its not installed there.
How do i acquire it?

apt-get update;apt-get install tethereal

3) Can i scp the trace to my local machine once its acquired there?
Yes..

4) If i reserve a sandbox will the traces contain data from the 2
machines in the sandbox only or will it also contain data from other
sandboxes/grids ? (assuming they are in same/nearby channels)
It should not contain any other trace data since the sandboxes are
connected using RF cables rather than through antennas, however there
could be some small leakage
Try running your experiment in "a" mode

Ive gone through the tutorials online but they couldnt clear my doubts.
I'd be grateful if you could help.
