Hi Arinto,
Sorry for late reply - with the start of semester things are a bit more
hectic then usual (if that is possible).
As far as outdoor deployment is concerned, unfortunately we are still in
the process of trying to solve the issue of node deployment on busses
and even bigger problem of getting the research license for wide area
system. Main problem is that the UMTS frequencies used by our open BSR
were recently auctioned by the FCC so we now have to get the approval
from the new owner (which is highly unlikely due to the fact that we are
in greater New York metropolitan area). We are trying to resolve these
two issues and as soon as we get some resolution we will post it. As for
the rest of the outdoor deployment, the static nodes are already
deployed on the section of the bus route and we are doing some vehicular
experiments with the nodes installed in personal cars (for obvious
reasons that is not something that is repeatable nor available for
outside use).
Regards,
Ivan.

Subject: ORBIT-USER: ORBIT Field Trial System
Hi all,
I would like to know more about ORBIT's field trial system. Is this new
feature available for public? I read from ORBIT website that it is
stated as milestone for Q2 2006.
And how does that feature implemented? I found a slide from
http://www.winlab.rutgers.edu <http://www.winlab.rutgers.edu/> and it
states that the wireless node will be deployed in the shuttle bus and
there are some static 802.11 access point/router will be deployed near
the shuttle bus route. Does anyone know more about this field trial
system?
Thank you,
