ORBIT-USER: Are there plans to support Python?

Kanchan,

I may just want to add that the idea here is that we used Ruby
internally to implement what is called a Domain Specific Language
(Wikipedia: http://tinyurl.com/ylklmr) and it's the DSL, you as an
experimenter will interact. Obvioulsy, Ruby will peek through through
syntax and often used generic constructs such as conditionals and
loops.

Having said that, you may come to the conclusion that this is more in
the way than helpful. In this case, you can easily write your own
framework, or work on the bare metal. The only API you have to use is
what we call the "Orbit Grid Services" which are a set of web services
(REST-based) to get access to Orbit's base services, such as switching
on/off the nodes, imaging, noise generators, ...

We always love to hear about our user's experiences, good and bad, and
how we can make your life easier.

Regards,

-max
