ORBIT-USER: Noise injection

Because of the "enormous pressure" we decided to push for an "early"
release one of the two noise injection services. However, it is far from
being ready for the prime time - we are sure there will be quite a few
bugs to deal with so please be patient and let us know about any
problems (in other words: use at your own risk :-) ).

The vary basic instructions for using it are at:

http://www.orbit-lab.org/wiki/Documentation/ArbInterference .

As you can see from the page this service is really exposed in the very
basic form. We will try to get better (i.e. "experimenter friendlier")
interface ready as soon as we finish basic calibration which shouldn't
take to long. Having said that, it will take quite a long time to
calibrate everything (especially all of the wireless devices) which is a
prerequisite for fine tuning the topologies.

Also please don't assume that you know the state of the interference
injection; in order to avoid unpleasant surprises the safest bet is to
explicitly turn the interference off at start and end of your slot by
issuing

wget http://instrument1.orbit-lab.org:5012/interference/stop

(whether you use interference injection in your experiments or not).

Happy experimenting,

Ivan.

PS: Fully distributed noise injection (with 100 noise sources) is at
least 3 months away due to "manufacturing" problems.

PPS: We need a better name for this service so if you have an idea ...
