By default, I believe this is set to 2312B - in other words, RTS is not 
used for any data packet since MTU is 1500B. You can set this value to 
something smaller (say 256B) - RTS/CTS will be used only for packets with 
sizes greater than the threshold.

> Size of Preamble to the packets, i.e. long or short,
Atheros cards use the short preamble from the 802.11 standard. This may 
also be configurable via driver modifications.
